# Norton AntiVirus

## Norton AntiVirus does not like ratrabbit.nl

When I publicised my [tennis-scheduler](/web_apps/tennis_scheduler_ng/index.html),
one of my tennis mates wanted to use it, but had to tell me that
[Norton AntiVirus](https://norton.com){target=_blanc}
procuced a large warning window with red background, stating that
[ratrabbit.nl](/) is potentially
unsafe to use.

Of course, I did not recommend to ignore that warning, after all she did not
pay for the antivirus software to ignore it's recommendations.

BTW: Other antivirus software do not warn against usage of [ratrabbit.nl](/).

## I tried to convince Norton that ratrabbit.nl is safe

I went to the website
[safeweb](https://safeweb.norton.com){target=_blanc},
filled in the url [ratrabbit.nl](/) and the form and waited a week without
getting a response.

So, I filled the form again, but on submission, I got the message that
the "dispute" was already going on.

Still, [ratrabbit.nl](/) is "unsafe" for Norton AntiVirus users.

## Conclusion

I understand that false positives are inevitable sometimes, but
it is a pity that a well-known antivirus software supplier does not
react to forms filled in on a page that specifically is designed to
give feed-back.

The reason why Norton AntiVirus thinks that [ratrabbit.nl](/) is unsafe is
a mystery to me.

Other websites will suffer from the same problem, so users will tend
to ignore the warning from Norton AntiVirus, thereby exposing themselves to
some risk.
