Installation of linux

Here I try to keep track of my attemps to install linux on various systems. Alas, I started taking notes way to late, but hey: better late than never.

In general, there are no real difficulties to install linux on a system, but details vary.

I would not recommend to set up a dual boot (linux - windows) system, I noticed that upgrading the windows part often results in a system that only wants to boot in windows. Luckily, boot repair will rescue your system.
